3:48 am - So uh... I got fired.

I hate to be all emo and weepy and stuff, but that's what livejournal is for, right?
So I come back from my week vacation and go to my store all fresh and pumped and ready to blow out sales for this holiday season... only to find out that I no longer have a job. I was let go for various reasons... only one of which is really legit. Anyway, long story short, I have no job now. If any of you local folks have any idea as to where I can get a job that pays decently ($10+/hour) and I'll be able to get 40 hours a week, do please let me know ASAP, I would really appreciate it.

So only the two people who read this that went to High School with me with get this... I saw Steve today at work. He just came in, looked around, and left. I recognized him, but he didn't say much. That's all, nothing big really.

12:37 pm - Uhm, I dunno... stuff?

I'm pretty happy right now... turns out gamingfm is back up and running. I missed my streaming video game music net radio station. Even though it used to be Simple and Clean FM... but since I started listening again I've only heard that song once... maybe it got taken out of the request list, or people have finally got tired of listening to it... I dunno.
I got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon for the DS yesterday... normally it retails for 34.99. If I had bought it at work, I would have got a 15% discount. However... Fry's was selling it for 22.99. You can't beat that price with a stick.
And yanno, I really don't know what to make of my manager at work. The guy just flip-flops so often on his views on things. One day he'll be all mean about stuff and the next he'll be happy-go-lucky. One day he'll be joking about firing people for stupid stuff and just yesterday he told me how much he appreciates me working at the store because I bring so much to the table. Bloody right I bring it to the table. I've only been working for EB for 5 years. In any event, he's going to be gone next week for the manager meeting in Texas, so I get to run the store by myself for those 5-6 days that he's out of town. Now, I've done this twice before at two different stores, so this isn't anything overly new... but if I want to have any real hope of getting my own store anytime soon, I need to seriously produce some big numbers, or my DM won't recognize me for the quality worker that I am.

I'm bored... and I was reading other people's journal entries, so I figured I could update again... it's been what... almost 10 months since I last did?
Yeah... been busy kinda.
WoW News: My guild is whooping booty in Nax right now. That's the hardest dungeon in the game until the expansion comes out. We farm AQ for loot on a weekly basis... and my druid looks like a tonberry. See Enclosed Picture
EB News: I'm sure many of you already know... I'm not working at the downtown store anymore for rather BS reasons... namely the backroom was a mess when the DM came in, and I didn't offer to help him clean it up. That single act of wrong button pushing got me transfered to a store 11 miles away from my house. Lame, I know. However, the store isn't all bad... I mean aside from the fact that it's triple the distance away from my house than the downtown store was and the fact that it's open until 9pm instead of 7pm daily... there is never a lack of things to do... so I don't get bored. Contrary to my original impressions of him, the manager isn't that bad of a guy, and he really appreciates the work that I do. We're consistantly being ranked as the #1 or #2 store in the district and usually in the top 20 in the region... so that's good. If this keeps up for a while, the DM will have no choice but to recognize the good work I do and award me my own store; which was ultimately my goal in the first place. This store also features 95% less crackheads than downtown! That's a big plus in my book.
House News: Our house is still... pretty much a mess. We've obviously all moved in, and adjusted... but I could have said that about 7 months ago. Burdock has grown up to be a small cat comparatively speaking. He's a bit smaller than Rowan, who is in turn smaller than Mallorn. Speaking of Mally, we still need to find a good home for him, as he's a total butthead when it comes to other adult cats that aren't Burdock.
And that's basically all that's transpired in the last 10 months. So... you can see why I don't update that often... I don't have that much to say... and even when I do, no response... it's like I'm typing into a real journal... go fig. :P

10:29 am - All... by... myself...
|
Yup, I've been alone in my new place for 3 days now. Meggers is up in San Fran selling Kimono at Y-con, so I've had to do everything on my own. It's kinda liberating but kinda sad at the same time. I miss waking up next to my love. Having people to talk to is nice as well... but I have my guild on teamspeak and people to talk to when I go to work, so I'm not entirely alone there. Anyway, I'll be happy when Megan gets back and I'll hug her and kiss her and be very happy to have her around again. :)
In other news... I finally completed my Cenarion set for my Druid in World of Warcraft. That's something I've been wanting forever, and now I've finally got it. Everything left that I want is elsewhere... so I never have to go back :)
Also... I picked up our kitten burdock from the vet on Friday where he was neutered, but it was a bit complex, so they actualy had to cut him open to do the operation... anyway, he's got this collar on around his neck to prevent him from biting at the sutures... and the poor thing can't scratch or lick anything as a result. So he's always running up to me for me to scratch his face. In fact, he just jumped into my lap right now.
There might have been one other thing I wanted to mention, but kitty in the lap has made me forgot what it was... so I'll say bye for now.

I present an update...
Nothing much to report though... uhm... my new comic is entering the development stages as opposed to the planning stages... which is a fair improvement over the long planning stage that went nowhere.
Oh yeah, I'm moving out... and then in with my fiancee. Definately looking forward to that... but we've still got a fair bit of work to do before we can actually live in there... lots of things to move, furniture to buy... and other stuff... which we're going to deal with in the next eight days apparently... I've got a busy week ahead of me it would seem...
I have also come to the conclusion that I use elipses too much... but that's just my way of typing, so I guess there isn't anything wrong with them... is there?

Nothing much to say... but I thought I would update to let people know I'm still alive. My WoW guild finally killed Ragnaros for the first time a month ago... and now we have an actual website instead of just a forum.

1:37 am - For those of you that missed it...

I got engaged. To Megan. I caught her 95% by surprise. It was perfect... even the cows liked it.
The last week has been rather dull though, nothing big happening at work and nothing major online... except for tonight. My guild raided Onyxia again and we killed her on our third try. Boy that was an ugly fight. Anyway, we killed her and she dropped the best druid helm in the game. The Stormrage set hat... and I won it. Very happy am I. Sadly, it's still got placeholder graphics, so it looks like a level 28 grey item... but I'm happy with the buff for now. :)

Well, I had the whole weekend off, which was nice for a change... was rather busy. Played a lot of games, slept a lot, took Megan out hiking, got engaged, went home, cursed comcast a lot for going down all the time, tried to play WoW... rather busy and a nice change from work.
Right now I'm just enjoying my last day off before I head back to the grind of work.

Well, I just saw Akira for the first time... and really, I was rather unimpressed. I suppose I may have been expecting too much out of it, but then again, I honestly had no idea what TO expect. All I knew going into it was that it someone involved telekinesis and guys named Kaneda and Tetsuo who enjoyed calling out each others' names about as much as Miyaka and Tamahome. Ah well.
Vacation until Tuesday. Yay.

8:46 am - EB Games just got Owned.

Apparently... as of 10:00am PDT today... GameStop now owns EB Games. That's 85 minutes from now, yes... but I got a call from one of my old co-workers earlier saying this happened. So I consulted the Internet to find out if this was true or not. I found the following...

So... what does this mean for me? I have no idea. Work is definately going to be odd today. Assuming that I get the time off of work (and I don't see why I shouldn't), then I have the perfect weekend planned for Megan and I to go on. I'll need to confirm a few things and tie off a few loose ends... one of which involves Megan... so if you read this, I need to get in touch with you soonish. As for the rest of the plans... well... if it doesn't rain, we'll be great. :)

5:00 am - Strange dreams
|
Oh boy... last night I had some really wierd ones. Normally my dreams lately have been the rather unmemorable ones that you forget before you wake up... but last night I was awoken not once... but twice by dreams unlike what I normally have. The first dream involved me in my house. I had arrived home from work recently and Megan and Dave were over. There was also this strange man in the house that I had never seen before... but I recalled something about the internet or A/C or something being fixed so I didn't think too much of it. Anyway, I head into my room and Megan tells me that I should get rid of that guy because he's creeping her out. So I say that I will after I change, so I head into my bathroom to change since Megan and Dave were in my room, and I slide shut the door... at which point I'm greeted by a LOUD beeping sound and I see what looks like a small disc on the wall with a red light flashing. I immedately know it's a bomb, and in my dream I start crying almost immedately. I'm fairly certain it exploded... and when I did I woke up instantly... it's been a while since I died in a dream... I'm not really sure if I ever have...
Anyway, I go back to sleep and when I wake up the next time, when I'm supposed to get ready for work, all I remember was hiding under my sheets because some alien UFO was outside shooting in a mind control beam at me... and yet the cloth was protection from it.
So... yeah... strange dreams.
Also... it's 5am... and I'm hungry :/
